Cansino Law Firm, LLC Carl S. Cansino Carl practices in the area of Criminal Defense in both State and Federal Courts and General and Civil Litigation. Before establishing The Cansino Law Firm in 2004 he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit for seven years.

Carl has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the area of Criminal Defense. He also has been recognized as a Top 10 Lawyer in Georgia by the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL) and holds the office of Regional Vice President. Carl's colleagues in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, which is Georgia's largest Judicial Circuit by number of counties, has elected him to serve as a representative to the State Bar of Georgia where Carl serves as a member of the Board of Governors. State Bar President, Buck Rogers has appointed him to serve on the SOLACE (Support of Lawyers – All Concern Encouraged) committee and the MLAP (Military Legal Assistance Program). He also serves by Appointment as the Municipal Court Prosecutor for the City of Milledgeville.

Carl also serves as Chairman to the Department of Law's Advisory Committee on Consumer Protection. A position in which he was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue and reappointed by Governor Nathan Deal.

Carl has represented many high profile cases at both the State and Federal level including some with significant media coverage. In addition to success at the trial level, Carl has numerous appellate cases reported and errant decisions by the trial court successfully reversed.

Carl is active in the community. He serves as a Board Member for the Twin Lakes Public Library. His firm has also partnered with Lakeview Primary School as a Partner in Education.

Carl received his law degree from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School and received his undergraduate degree from the Florida State University and is admitted to practice in all the State Court of Georgia as well as the US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.

Kerry's practice focuses in the area of family law which includes divorce, child custody, child support, legitimation, juvenile law, and adoptions.

Before joining The Cansino Law Firm, Kerry served as a Staff Attorney for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit's five Superior Court Judges. Kerry is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court in the Northern District of Georgia. Kerry is also admitted to practice before all State and Appellate Courts in the State of Georgia.

Originally from Milledgeville, Georgia, Kerry graduated from the University of Georgia (B.A. 13) with a Bachelor's Degree in English. She then attended Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law (J.D. 17). Kerry comes from a family of lawyers as her father (Jimmy Jordan) and husband (Anthony Allen) also practice law. She is passionate about helping others through the legal process.

Tony primarily practices in residential real estate law and will and estates law. Before joining The Cansino Law Firm Tony worked for Waddell & Associates, P.C. for over 5 years until Mr. Waddell retired. Tony is a member of the Ocmulgee Bar Association and the Baldwin Bar Association.

Tony is originally from Milledgeville, Georgia. Tony Graduated from the University of Georgia (B.A. 13) with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He then attended Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law (J.D. 17). Tony Allen is married to our family law attorney and enjoys working with his wife. He comes from a family of lawyers as well as his Uncle (Walter C. Green, III) and Grandfather (Late Honorable Robert H. Green) are attorneys as well as his wife and father-in-law (Jimmy Jordan). Tony pays great attention to details and is a perfectionist making him the perfect attorney to handle your real estate closing or wills and estates issue.

In Memoriam: June 21, 1955 to April 27, 2018

Cansino Law Firm, LLC Fred Bright Fred Bright joined The Cansino Law Firm in an “Of Counsel” position in 2018. His practice area focuses in all types of Criminal Defense (both State and Federal Crimes), Personal Injury, and other civil litigation.

Before joining the firm, Fred had a long and accomplished career in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office. First serving for 13 years as an Assistant District Attorney in all 8 counties (Baldwin, Jones, Wilkinson, Hancock, Putnam, Morgan, Greene and Jasper Counties), until he was overwhelmingly elected by the voters as the District Attorney in 1994. He was re-elected 5 more times, and served as the District Attorney for 21 years, longer than any DA in the over 200 years history of our Circuit.

He is one of the most experienced trial lawyers in the entire State of Georgia. He has tried over 400 jury trials, including 13 Death Penalty Murder trials as lead counsel (the most in Georgia according to the Atlanta Journal/Constitution), over 100 other homicide cases, and every type of crime imaginable. He has handled tens of thousands of cases involving every type of crime in Georgia, including drug sales and possession, DUIs, Vehicular Homicides, traffic offenses, Child Molestation and Abuse, Assaults, Batteries, Armed Robberies, Sexual Offenses, Thefts, Forgeries, White Collar Crimes, R.I.C.O. cases, Obstruction of Officer cases, etc.

Fred has won every award given in Georgia to prosecutors, including District Attorney of the Year Award (2013), President of the Georgia District Attorneys' Association (2006-2007), Chairman of the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia (2012-2013), and culminating in the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia (2015).

Fred earned his law degree from the University of Georgia and undergraduate degree from Emory. He is married to Cinda S. Bright, who has served as the elected Clerk of Superior Court for Wilkinson County for 38 years. They are the proud parents of Jonathan, a Litigation Patent Attorney with the law firm of Fish and Richardson in Atlanta, and Jacob, a senior at Georgia Military College Prep School.
